At 22 years old, Daniel Airoso is an A international for the Brazilian futsal team. His arrival in Portugal, at the age of 21, turned out to be auspicious for him. On loan from the Spanish club Palma, he serves Tram and shared his journey’s past, present, and future with Zero Zero. He conversed calmly and focusedly, expressing happiness about the positive trajectory of his career and the fulfillment of his dreams.
Growing up, Daniel played both football and futsal until he was 17. However, it was futsal that truly ignited his passion. He expressed his preference for its intensity, the constant ball involvement, and how it became a significant part of his life, something he never anticipated in his childhood.
His rapid career ascent from Corinthians to Spain’s Palma and then to Portugal, particularly Eléctrico, was not without challenges. The adaptation was smoother in Portugal due to the club’s support and preseason integration, unlike his experience in Spain.
Comparing futsal leagues in Brazil, Spain, and Portugal, Daniel highlighted differences in game intensity and styles but found the Portuguese and Spanish leagues fairly similar in competitiveness and gameplay.
Eléctrico’s success this season attributes itself to the team’s unity and diligent work ethic. Daniel emphasized the group’s camaraderie and collective focus, aiming to step-by-step improve and potentially claim titles in the ongoing championships.
Regarding his future, Daniel remains calm and open to possibilities, considering discussions with his agent and Palma at the season’s end. Despite uncertainties, he’s content with his current journey, underscoring that change isn’t always necessary for future happiness.
Daniel’s most significant achievement, becoming an A international player for Brazil, was unexpected and surreal for him. Reflecting on his Copa America 2022 experience, he cherished the learnings from top players, even if he didn’t play much, and aims for more opportunities to assert his capability in the national team.”
