Portugal Holds Second Place in FIFA Futsal Rankings Despite Early World Championship Exit

Portugal national futsal team held onto second place in the world rankings, despite an early exit from the World Championship. The latest update, released by FIFA this Friday, shows Portugal remaining in second, although significantly behind the leader.

Currently the two-time European champions, Portugal has 1546.33 points, narrowly edging out Argentina, who moved up two spots to third with 1520.59 points. At the top of the ranking, Brazil, the reigning world champion from Uzbekistan, leads with 1650.75 points.

Notably, Kazakhstan and Ukraine made significant gains among the top ten teams. Kazakhstan, which knocked Portugal out in the round of 16, jumped three spots to fifth with 1500.09 points. Ukraine, a semi-finalist that lost to Brazil in a tight match, also climbed three places and now sits ninth with 1375.21 points.
