After an outstanding season in Belgium, Ludgero Lopes is heading to Serie A. Fortitudo Pomezia, a top-tier Italian futsal team, announced this weekend the signing of the 26-year-old Portuguese international pivot.

Lopes, who trained at Shotokai Queluz and Sporting, has enjoyed two prolific goal-scoring seasons. In 2022/23, after starting with Portimão, he netted 22 goals in 22 games for KS Constract Lubawa, helping them secure the Polish championship.

Next, he moved to Belgium, where he tallied 31 goals in 28 games for Herentals, a team that reached the championship play-offs. Now, he sets his sights on new challenges in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues.

In Italy, at Fortitudo Pomezia, Ludgero will reunite with two compatriots: Miguel Ângelo, who played there in 2023/24, and Tiago Fernandes, another recent signing.

In his home country, Ludgero has played for several clubs, consistently showcasing an impressive goal-scoring record: SC Braga, Quinta dos Lombos, Modicus, Leões Porto Salvo, and Portimonense. For now, his goal-scoring prowess will continue to shine abroad.
