Counter-Strike Caster Maniac Faces Sexual Assault Allegations from Two Women

Mathieu ‘Maniac’ Quiquerez, a Counter-Strike 2 caster and former player and coach, has been accused of sexual assault. The accuser, Hannah Marie ZT, a freelance esports journalist and events manager for Play New Meta, alleged on social media that Maniac “groped, inappropriately touched, grinded on, and grabbed” her despite her showing “clear discomfort and no reciprocation.”

According to Marie, the incident occurred at an afterparty following a Counter-Strike event. She reported the assault to a relevant company, though she did not name the organization for confidentiality reasons. Marie stated that the company upheld her accusations after an internal investigation but did not confirm its decision in writing. She revealed that an email error revealed the company’s intent to ignore her request for formal acknowledgment of the investigation’s outcome.

Marie also claimed that the company could not share its findings with broadcast teams due to confidentiality agreements and policies. In her public statement, she mentioned intervening to stop Maniac from assaulting other women. She said she went public with the accusation to warn others in the esports industry.

In response, Maniac shared on social media that he has “a drastically different recollection” of the events, denying that any sexual assault occurred. He admitted to inappropriate behavior but said the situation should not go beyond that. Following the allegation, Maniac announced he would step down from the EPL broadcast.

Maniac has been a full-time broadcaster in Counter-Strike esports since 2019, working with BLAST, PGL, and ESL. Before his broadcasting career, he played and coached for teams like Titan, Team EnVyUs, and Rogue. Following his statement, another woman, Daisy Powers, came forward, accusing Maniac of groping her multiple times in front of esports colleagues at the same event.
