Movistar Inter Strengthens Squad as Pani Leads 2025-26 Recruitment Drive
Movistar Inter is actively shaping their roster for the 2025-26 season, with a strong focus on academy talent under Alberto Riquer’s leadership. The team appears poised to reclaim their winning tradition after a four-year title drought.
The club’s commitment to youth development is evident in their roster, which includes promising academy graduates Eloy de Pablos, Sergio Barona, Mario Garrido, Gonzalo de Miguel, Dani Colón, and David Segovia. However, another academy product has recently made a remarkable return – the more experienced Granada native, José Antonio Fernández Raya.
Following a challenging recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, Raya received medical clearance on Tuesday and is set to rejoin the squad for Saturday’s match against Wanapix Sala 10 Zaragoza at Jorge Garbajosa. “I’m feeling excellent now,” Raya shared. “Despite months of challenges, I’m highly motivated and eager to contribute to the club’s success.” Reflecting on his journey, he added, “The date is forever etched in my memory – my surgery was on May 23, followed by the most difficult months of recovery. But persistence has finally paid off.”
Raya speaks enthusiastically about his teammates’ performance: “The team is in excellent form. Finishing strong in the first round was crucial. This year marks significant progress for us, and there’s genuine optimism about securing multiple titles.”
Looking ahead, Raya remains focused on maintaining the team’s momentum: “My hope is that we continue our current trajectory. From training sessions to match days, winning remains our primary objective.”
