Cristian goes to Tudelano and Jaén opens the door to Attos

Winter Transfer Activity Heats Up at Jaén Paraíso Interior

Jaén Paraíso Interior is making significant moves in the First Division winter transfer window following the departure of Chino to Latvia’s RFS. The club is now undergoing a squad restructuring, with Cristian Rubio set to join ATP Tudelano Ribera Navarra on loan. Rubio, who joined from Ceutí this past summer, has struggled to adapt to manager Dani Rodríguez’s system despite his experience as a left-footed power forward.

The club’s recruitment efforts have turned toward bringing in players who can make an immediate impact. One potential target is Attos Cristhian Mendes Da Silva, who recently ended his contract with Noia Portus Apostoli. The Brazilian player, who has fully recovered from an Achilles tendon injury sustained last February, previously spent three seasons with Jaén. While both Tudelano and Burela have expressed interest, sources indicate Attos prefers a return to Jaén, where he believes working under Rodríguez could help him regain his top form.

Attos’s potential return

Sports Director Nicolás Sabariego is reportedly enthusiastic about Attos’s potential return, though tactical considerations remain. With Fernando Trindade already in the squad as a defensive specialist, accommodating Attos might require repositioning Carlos Sanz to the wing or finding an alternative solution to fill the void left by Chino’s departure. The team is particularly focused on strengthening their left wing position while awaiting Franklin’s return to fitness.

In national team news, Spain head coach Jesús Velasco has announced a preliminary 30-player squad for the upcoming European Championship 2026 qualifier against England, scheduled for February 4 in Loughborough. The final 14-player roster will be revealed on January 22, with the training camp beginning January 26 at Las Rozas Soccer City in Madrid.

Notable additions to the preliminary squad include Míchel from Jaén, Palma’s Manuel Piqueras, Osasuna duo Asier and Pachu, David Álvarez, and Industrias’ Bernat Povill. Spain enters this match with momentum after impressive victories over Switzerland (9-0) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (6-1). Their next opponents, England, have shown mixed form in the competition, losing to Bosnia (5-1) but defeating Switzerland by the same scoreline. The match presents an opportunity for Spain to strengthen their position atop the group and move closer to securing qualification for the European Championship.
