Alberto Saura Makes Strategic Return to Spanish Futsal with Viña Albali Valdepeñas

Viña Albali Valdepeñas has secured the services of Alberto Saura through a loan agreement with Belgian club RSC Anderlecht. The Spanish international returns to his home country at a similar time to his move last year, when he joined Jimbee Cartagena.

A deal will keep Saura at Valdepeñas for the remainder of this season plus an additional campaign, with Anderlecht agreeing to subsidize a portion of his wages. The 30-year-old brings significant experience to the squad, having previously played for ElPozo Murcia, Imola in Italy, Antequera, O Parrulo Ferrol, and Córdoba.

Head coach Ricardo Íñiguez approved the signing, viewing Saura as someone who can make an immediate impact. The move comes at an opportune time, as the team is dealing with injuries to Jorge Carrasco and Francisco Solano. Saura is expected to join the squad on January 21.

At Valdepeñas, Saura will reunite with former ElPozo Murcia reserve teammates Fernando Aguilera and Alberto García. The trio previously celebrated a Second Division League championship together in the 2015-16 season under coach Josan González.

The club currently sits in thirteenth place and is working to climb the table to secure a Play Off spot, similar to their achievement last season. Under Íñiguez’s leadership, the team has shown promise, remaining undefeated while winning the Provincial Council trophy and advancing to the Copa del Rey quarterfinals after defeating Gasifred Ibiza.

Regarding the team’s development, Íñiguez expressed a measured approach: “We still have many aspects to improve. We want to play very well and score many goals, which sometimes makes us anxious. What we need to do is maintain our game model and defend well – the results will follow from there.”
