Fernando Montardo: Jaén Paraíso Interior’s Game-Changing Brazilian Futsal Signing

Jaén Paraíso Interior Adds Brazilian Talent Fernando Montardo to Winter Roster

In a strategic move for the winter transfer window, Jaén Paraíso Interior has secured the signing of Brazilian futsal player Fernando Montardo Trindade. The 26-year-old right-footed closer arrives with an impressive track record and multiple international offers.

Montardo joins the team with a free transfer from ACBF (Carlos Barbosa Futsal Association), bringing exceptional set-piece skills and versatility to the squad. With the ability to play both as a closer and on the wing, he represents a valuable addition to the team’s lineup.

The club’s sports director, Nicolás Sabariego, received glowing recommendations from Mithyuê, a former yellow team player who shares a dressing room with Montardo at ACBF. This insider endorsement played a crucial role in the transfer decision.

Born in Porto Alegre on January 21, 1998, Montardo stands at an impressive 1.88 meters tall. He developed through the youth ranks of Carlos Barbosa, making his first-team debut in 2018 and quickly becoming a key player. His international experience includes representing Brazil in youth categories and winning the South American League in 2021.

Last season, Montardo demonstrated his scoring prowess by playing 55 games across various competitions and netting 34 goals—his personal best. In the current campaign, he has already appeared in 37 matches and scored 18 goals, showcasing his consistent performance.

Dani Rodriguez’s team

Currently, Dani Rodriguez’s team is performing strongly, averaging 4.5 goals per game across eight matches and ranking second in the First Division scoring charts. Montardo’s arrival is expected to bolster the team’s defensive capabilities, having conceded 25 goals so far this season.

The club previously explored the possibility of signing a third center but decided against it after Eric Panes’ impressive performances during his loan at Polish club Rekord Bielsko. Panes is set to return in June 2025.

While the team is monitoring the injury of left-winger Franklin Douglas Cavalcante, who will be out for two months due to a fibula fracture, they remain confident in their existing left-sided options, including Antoniazzi, Cristian Rubio, and Dani Zurdo.
