Viña Albali Valdepeñas Faces Uncertainty as Víctor Beas Continues Interim Role

Víctor Beas will continue in his interim role as head coach of Viña Albali Valdepeñas at least until Saturday, when the team faces Servigroup Peñíscola. Beas, who previously coached the azulón reserve team, made his First Division debut on Tuesday with a 2-3 loss to Barça. Following the dismissal of David Ramos. Despite the challenge of preparing for the match in just one day, Beas’ team showed a positive performance, though they suffered their third consecutive defeat, their sixth of the season. So far, the team has only secured one win in seven rounds and has yet to earn a point at home.

The search for a permanent coach continues, with president Luis Palencia struggling to find a reliable replacement. Several names have been considered, including José María Pazos ‘Pulpis’, Diego Ríos, Marlon Velasco, and Josan González. But all are under contract and currently abroad, making an immediate appointment unlikely. New candidates, such as José Lucas Mena ‘Pato’ and Sergi Altisent, are also being discussed, but no negotiations are underway at this time.

Beas acknowledged his inexperience at this level, coming from the Third Division, but praised the team’s attitude, stating that they had been receptive to his guidance. He plans to make some minor adjustments ahead of the Peñíscola match but emphasized that his role is temporary. Beas also shared his advice for the next coach: fostering self-belief in the players, improving tactical aspects like the goalkeeper-player relationship, and addressing defensive issues. He is committed to the club during his interim term, focusing on improving the team as much as possible.

After Saturday’s match, Valdepeñas will face CD Sporting La Nucía in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday, November 26, followed by a league match against Wanapix Zaragoza on Sunday, December 1.

David Ramos, dismissed earlier in the week, visited Virgen de la Cabeza to bid farewell to the media. A visibly emotional Ramos reflected on his time at the club, expressing gratitude for the experiences and the fans’ support. He admitted the disappointment of not winning a title but said he was stepping away to take a break and spend time with family. Ramos offered advice to his successor, urging them to stay true to their principles and enjoy their time at the club while striving for results.
