BLAST R6 Major Montreal 2024: Teams, Highlights, and Viewership Insights

The roster for the BLAST R6 Major Montreal 2024, the premier event for Rainbow Six Siege in the latter half of 2024, is now confirmed. Fan engagement was strongest in Europe, North America, and Brazil during regional leagues and qualifiers, which reported the highest viewership, though audience numbers have notably declined since spring.

The Stage 2 regional leagues took place across nine regions — Europe, North America, Latin America, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Oceania, Asia, and MENA — in September and October. The top teams from each region’s main league progressed directly to the main event in Montreal, while lower-performing teams joined Phase 1 alongside Last Chance Qualifier winners. Altogether, 20 teams are set to compete in Canada.

European League

Fnatic and G2 Esports delivered unexpected performances, both missing direct qualifications. Fnatic finished at the bottom of its group, while G2 was eliminated early in the playoffs by Virtus.pro. However, G2 ultimately secured a spot through the Last Chance Qualifiers, keeping fans on edge. The European League maintained the highest audience reach with an average of 16,500 viewers, peaking at 32,500, though these figures represent declines of 21% and 10.2%, respectively, compared to Stage 1.

Brazilian League

In Brazil, Team Liquid, FaZe Clan, and w7m Esports dominated the regular season, but the Last Chance Qualifier turned surprising when Black Dragons, winless in the group stage, claimed the final spot by eliminating E1 Sports and FURIA Esports. While the Brazilian League ranked second in viewership, it saw significant losses, with average viewership down 39% and peak viewership nearly halving. Twitch channels rainbow6, rainbow6br, and YouTube’s R6 Brazil noted sharp drops, and even Team Liquid’s community caster, RazaH, experienced lower viewership than usual.

North American League

Soniqs emerged as the Stage 2 leader, despite missing a major slot in Stage 1. DarkZero Esports and Spacestation Gaming also performed well, while Stage 1 champion Cloud9 x Beastcoast failed to qualify. CL4L secured the fourth slot through the LCQ, entering after open qualifiers. The North American League’s viewership also dropped, with average and peak numbers down by 24% and 13.6%, respectively, though the Rainbow 6 YouTube channel saw slight growth.

Other Leagues

The leagues in Japan, South Korea, Latin America, Asia, Oceania, and MENA experienced lower viewership. Despite declines of 20-30% across most regions, MENA saw a minor increase in peak viewership but remains outside the top eight leagues.

Last Chance Qualifiers

Teams from top regions competed in the LCQ if they missed direct qualification. Brazil, Europe, and North America qualifiers attracted the highest viewership, often rivaling the main stages. The most-watched match was Black Dragons versus FURIA Esports in Brazil, peaking at over 24,200 viewers.

The BLAST R6 Major Montreal 2024, with a $750,000 prize pool, will run from November 7 to 17 at the Verdun Auditorium in Canada. Keep track of results and viewership statistics on the reporting page.
