CoD pro Scrap gives verdict on Black Ops 6 skill gap with new movement

Professional Call of Duty League player Thomas ‘Scrap’ Ernst recently shared his thoughts on Black Ops 6’s new omnimovement feature. Discussing whether he believes it will significantly increase the skill gap between pros and casual players.

Omnimovement marks a first for the Call of Duty series, letting players dive, slide, and sprint in any direction—all while keeping their weapon ready. This is expected to bring a fresh layer of movement mastery for experts like JoeWo, Shotzzy, and Aydan, potentially widening the skill gap further.

However, Scrap isn’t convinced this will drastically change the landscape. In a Q&A video posted on October 22, just ahead of Black Ops 6’s release, he remarked, “Honestly, I think the skill gap will probably be just like last year.” He pointed out that, as with Modern Warfare 3, the top players will likely remain at the top. While those struggling may continue to do so.

“Last year had diving and many of the same mechanics we’re seeing in this game, so I expect the skill gap to stay similar,” Scrap added, noting that opinions vary on this topic.

Scrap also discussed his expectations for the upcoming season with LA Thieves, a team widely expected to contend for titles. Winning under former pro Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag’s leadership as CEO is a personal goal for Scrap, who looks forward to celebrating a championship victory with him.

While the start date and locations for the CDL Black Ops 6 season remain unconfirmed, early speculation suggests online matches could begin before year’s end.
