Aydan explains mistake that cost him $1 million early in his Fortnite career

Top Warzone pro and streamer Aydan has revealed that he believes he could be $1 million richer if he had approached his early career differently, especially during his time in Fortnite.

Aydan has been a prominent figure in the battle royale scene for years. Particularly during the Fortnite era, where he gained recognition as one of the top controller players. His legendary battles with and against NICKMERCS at Tilted Towers were iconic. Despite earning significant prize money, around $200,000, Aydan thinks he missed out on much more.

According to Aydan, he “didn’t know how to play BR properly” back then, which he believes may have cost him dearly.

In an appearance on the “Around the Bar” podcast, hosted by OpTic Gaming’s Davis ‘Hitch’ Edwards, Aydan reflected on his career. Admitting that he wasn’t strategic enough to make the most of his opportunities. “I’m telling you… I didn’t know how to play BR back then,” he said while watching a clip of him and Nick excelling in a duos tournament. “I didn’t know how to really play BR like I do now. I was just used to killing bots.”

He added, “I always think if I were to go back and just be a smarter player, I’d probably have an extra $1 million, no f**king joke. I got scammed out of so many Fortnite tournaments. I was just a meathead.”

During the podcast, they also discussed players who earned significant sums in Fortnite, only to disappear from the scene later like iDropz_Bodiez, who made $130,000 from a single tournament win and then faded away.

Despite his current success in the battle royale genre, Aydan’s reflection on past mistakes offers a compelling look at how he has grown as a player over the years.
