Women’s Futsal: Six Nations Qualify for 2025 World Cup Final Phase in the Philippines

The women’s futsal teams of Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Poland, and Sweden have secured their spots in the final qualifying stage for the 2025 World Cup. Set to take place in the Philippines from November 21 to December 7, 2025. These teams topped their respective groups in a qualifying phase that saw 23 teams competing across various venues. They will now join Spain and Portugal, who were pre-qualified as European champion and runner-up, in the final European phase scheduled between March 18 and 23. A total of eight teams will compete, divided into two groups of four, with the top two from each group advancing to the World Cup.

Finland, Italy, Poland, and Sweden achieved perfect records in their groups. While Hungary, a Euro semi-finalist in 2022 and 2023, finished first in its group after a 3-2 victory over fellow debutant Norway. Despite drawing one of its three matches. France, participating in its first tournament of this kind, aims to replicate the success of the men’s team. In the elite round, they led group 3 in the Czech Republic with 7 points. Two wins and a draw, eliminating Ukraine, who finished as European runners-up in 2023. Ranked third in 2022 and fourth in 2021, in a competition dominated by Spain.
