Will jojopyun Join MAD Lions? KOI’s Public Recruitment Raises Eyebrows in LEC

In an unusual display of full transparency during the already chaotic 2025 League of Legends off-season, MAD Lions KOI have openly appealed to jojopyun, urging him to join their LEC roster.

Following their decision to part ways with mid laner Fresskowy after their early exit from Worlds 2024, they are in need of a new mid laner.

MAD Lions fans are still reeling from their team’s international run, which ended in a surprising defeat by minor region team GAM. The LEC’s overall performance at Worlds 2024 was underwhelming, but MAD Lions in particular faced harsh criticism from European fans.

Now, MAD is looking to make improvements in the off-season, particularly in their solo lanes. Both Myrwn and Fresskowy struggled during the tournament. While there’s a possibility that MAD will stick with their top laner and try to refine his unconventional playstyle, they are definitely on the hunt for a new mid laner.

That’s where jojopyun comes in. With rumors swirling about his departure from Cloud9, he’s one of the hottest prospects for the mid lane role, having delivered standout performances regardless of his team’s overall results.

Jojopyun has been regarded as NA’s best mid laner since 2022.

Rather than keeping their recruitment efforts quiet, MAD Lions KOI have made the unusual move of publicly expressing their desire to sign him. Ibai, a prominent figure within the organization, claimed that Elyoya has already tried to persuade jojopyun to join. That an offer has been made.recruitment effortsz

Additionally, KOI content creator and former LoL pro Reven even penned an open letter to jojopyun, explaining why he should join:

“I’d like you to imagine the scenario: You come to MDK, and with our team, you win the LEC and become the next mid lane legend in the West. Considering our co-streams pull in more than double the viewers of the official LCS broadcast, you would become an absolute LEGEND.”

Reven went on to assure that with the right performance, jojopyun would earn far more in Europe than he ever could in NA.

Considering Europe’s struggles at international events in 2024, it’s no surprise they’re scouting NA talent to bolster their ranks.

Reven ended his letter with a motivational push: “I know such a big change can seem daunting, moving continents and betting on a new community. But the biggest rewards often lie behind those fears. If you truly have the skill, I guarantee you won’t regret coming here.”
