According to various sources, Gentle Mates are aiming to assemble a championship-winning trio along with a promising young talent for their 2025 Call of Duty League roster. Although Gentle Mates have yet to be officially recognized as a CDL franchise. They are actively involved in roster changes after acquiring the spot previously held by the Los Angeles Guerrillas.
Initially, they sought to recruit players for a super team with LA Thieves. But have shifted their focus to a trio of world champions to launch their CDL journey.
Reports indicate that Gentle Mates are targeting the former New York Subliners’ 2023 world champions Matthew ‘KiSMET’ Tinsley, Cesar ‘Skyz’ Bueno, and Preston ‘Priestahh’ Greiner to form their lineup.
The New York Subliners were the 2023 Call of Duty world champions. If everything goes smoothly, they plan to add Minnesota Rokkr’s Thomas ‘Lynz’ Gregorio, pending a buyout agreement with G2.
KiSMET and Skyz continued to achieve significant success in 2024 after their championship win. Reaching the Champs grand final in an attempt to defend their title. It will be intriguing to see how they adapt to having a different European SMG alongside them instead of HyDra.
On the other hand, Priestahh faced challenges with what was once a promising Boston Breach roster and ultimately found himself sidelined by the end of the year during the Esports World Cup.
Currently, Gentle Mates are hoping to finalize agreements with both Cloud9 and G2 to acquire these players. While also working to secure the services of former New York head coach Ehsan ‘DREAL’ Javed. With three of his four championship-winning players reunited, he aims to foster a similar culture and winning mentality to elevate the new franchise.
