Sporting kicked off their 2024/25 pre-season this Thursday, albeit without the Portuguese internationals (Bernardo, João Matos, Tomás Paçó, Pauleta, and Zicky). The team started with the customary and essential medical check-ups and physical fitness assessments.
Allan Guilherme was the only new addition to appear on day one, with the former SC Braga pivot being welcomed by Taynan and Diogo Santos, who spoke to Sporting’s press. This Saturday, the first training session will take place at Pavilhão João Rocha at 2 pm, and it will be open to the public.
Direct quotes:
Taynan: “I’ve been looking forward to returning. Holidays are nice, but there’s nothing like getting back to the routines at the Club. It’s unmatched. We aim to be better than last season, more competitive, and fight for all the titles. I hope to see many Sporting fans, not just at the open training session but throughout the season. Their support means a lot.”
Diogo Santos: “Expectations are always high. We’re happy to be back at work for another year, ready to make history. Allan is a great guy, friendly and positive. We always welcome new players, and it’s been no different with him. He’ll fit in well.”
