Sacy and TenZ Retire: Sentinels Face Major Rebuild in Valorant

Just one day after TenZ announced his retirement, Sacy followed suit, officially stepping down from competitive Valorant. The Sentinels had one of the top rosters in the VCT, but now face the challenge of rebuilding.

In 2024, the Sentinels were among the best teams globally, showcasing strong performances at international tournaments, dominating domestically, and displaying an unmatched clutch factor.

Now, with Sacy joining TenZ in retirement, two of Valorant’s most iconic players have left back-to-back, leaving the Sentinels’ roster in disarray.

“The veteran heart that took us to the top, retiring as a Sentinel. Obrigado por tudo Gustavo,” the Sentinels tweeted, thanking Sacy for his contribution.

While TenZ gave some insights into his future plans, Sacy remained more reserved, not revealing whether he would continue in the Valorant scene or pursue other ventures.

“I’ve made the tough decision to stop playing. I’m officially retiring. It’s difficult, but it’s the right choice for me and my family. You know me as Sacy, but now it’s time to know Gustavo,” Sacy shared.

Sacy’s career has been illustrious, with his 2022 Valorant Champions win with LOUD solidifying his legendary status. Despite a rocky start with the Sentinels, he led the team to a domestic victory over LOUD in 2024, clinching Masters Madrid, and nearly securing the 2024 Valorant Champions title.

With both TenZ and Sacy retiring at what seemed to be the peak of their careers, fans are left wondering who will step up for the Sentinels, one of the Americas’ most beloved teams.

The roster shake-up leaves uncertainty as to who will join Sentinels in their rebuild.
