Riot Games has yet to confirm the artist for the 2024 League of Legends World Championship anthem, but speculation is swirling around Linkin Park.
Anthems for Riot’s esports events are highly anticipated, setting the tone for the entire tournament, often featuring well-known artists and culminating in a live performance during the Grand Finals.
In the past, Riot has collaborated with major names like Lil Nas X, Imagine Dragons, and NewJeans for the Worlds anthems. While the artist for the 2024 anthem hasn’t been revealed yet, many believe Linkin Park is a strong contender based on several clues.
Ahead of their comeback tour, Linkin Park announced a new lead singer, Emily Armstrong, following the passing of Chester Bennington. Fans are excited for their return, and some sharp-eyed League fans have noticed that the LoL Esports social media is hyping up the band’s comeback as well.
On top of this, the band’s new album includes a track titled “Heavy is the Crown,” which aligns with the theme of the Worlds 2024 Anthem symbol teased by Riot on September 9.
The strongest clue linking Linkin Park to the anthem is the band’s upcoming tour schedule. Their website lists a performance at the O2 Arena in London on September 24, the same day Riot plans to release the anthem.
Interestingly, the Worlds 2024 Grand Finals are also set to take place at the O2 Arena on November 2.
Riot Games has previously collaborated with Mike Shinoda, a founding member of Linkin Park, who participated in a Global Premiere for Arcane in 2021. Shinoda, a known fan of Valorant and League of Legends, hinted at his interest in the game during the event.
League fans will have to wait until September 24 to find out if their hunches about the 2024 Worlds anthem are correct.
