CDL Pros Dominate COD Next: Unveiling Black Ops 6 and Area 99

At COD Next, several top Call of Duty pros, streamers, and content creators had the chance to get hands-on with the upcoming Black Ops 6. Play a few rounds on the new Resurgence map, Area 99, which will launch alongside the game. The CDL stars proved their dominance, outshining their opponents.

The Call of Duty League boasts the best COD players in the world. But there’s been ongoing debate about whether CDL pros or Warzone specialists are superior. Players like DiazBiffle, Shifty, and others have the skills to challenge CDL pros. But it’s hard to picture them dominating in competitive COD as they do in Warzone, where we’ve seen COD pros excel.

This debate was revisited on Wednesday, August 28, at COD NEXT, when Area 99 was introduced as the next Resurgence map for Warzone.

Despite the presence of top Warzone pros and streamers, and numerous matches taking place simultaneously, one trio consistently emerged victorious: OpTic Gaming’s Kenny ‘Kenny’ Williams, Anthony ‘Shotzzy’ Cuevas-Castro, and retired Anthony ‘Methodz’ Zinni.

The trio won four consecutive games, including one with a combined 47 kills, with Shotzzy nearly hitting a 20-bomb with 19 kills.

This success came despite facing tough competition, though considering Shotzzy and Kenny recently became two-time world champions, betting against them would have been unwise.

It’s important to note that it wasn’t just a single large Warzone LAN lobby, so many Warzone pros excelled in their matches — but ultimately, they were outshined by the CDL’s best in their own domain.
