Riot Games’ Indonesian Instagram account recently shared a video revealing the locations for the international VCT tournaments ahead of schedule.
According to the video, the VCT Masters events in 2025 will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, and Toronto, Canada. The Valorant Champions will conclude the season in Paris, France.
Bangkok will host the first Masters tournament of the year, with Toronto hosting the second. The video also outlined the updated format for the 2025 VCT competitive calendar, indicating some changes Riot is implementing for the next season.
The video details the following locations:
- Masters 1: Bangkok, Thailand 🇹🇭
- Masters 2: Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦
- Champions: Paris, France 🇫🇷
Paris
Paris will be the venue for the Champions event in 2025, as shown in the video still available on the Indonesian account. Corentin captured and shared this video on social media before it was removed.
For the 2025 season, a Kickoff tournament will kick off the year, similar to 2024, where all teams in the VCT International leagues will compete for a spot at Masters Bangkok. This tournament will use a double elimination bracket format, with the top two teams advancing to the major event.
Stage 1 of the VCT league season will determine the teams that qualify for Masters Toronto, while Stage 2 will follow after the international tournament.
A significant change from the 2024 format is that records from Stage 1 will not carry over to Stage 2, requiring teams to maintain consistent performance throughout the year to reach the Champions.
Teams will then compete in Stage 2 playoffs for a chance to qualify for the world championships in France. This will be the second time Valorant Champions is held in Europe, following the first world championship in 2021.
Riot Games has not yet officially announced the 2025 Valorant esports season across its social media channels. The developer is expected to release this information, along with other updates, before the final match of Valorant Champions 2024.
