Pablo del Moral’s Return to Córdoba: A New Era Under Coach Ema Santoro

Córdoba World Heritage Site is planning an exciting new project for the upcoming season. After confirming Argentine Ema Santoro as the new head coach, replacing Josan González, President José García Román has secured a significant achievement: the return of Pablo del Moral. Jaén Paraíso Interior announced the early release of the Móstolesian player from his contract, allowing him to rejoin the white-and-green team after a year away. Del Moral, who played for Córdoba Patrimonio de la Humanidad from 2021 to 2023, expressed his happiness about returning, saying, “I’ve missed both the city and the club, which I consider my own. I’m half Cordoban, and when the president called, I didn’t hesitate.” The 32-year-old Madrid native added, “I’m very excited about the new project with the new coach. With our fans, great things await us.”

New Coach

For the new coach, Ema Santoro, signing Pablo del Moral was a top priority. The Argentine coach remarked, “His return is one of the club’s key moves for next season. I worked with him during my first season at the club in 21-22, and he’s a leader both on and off the court, which is exactly what we need. He’s a complete defender who can both defend and facilitate play.”

Del Moral joins center Juanan Moraleja (Jimbee Cartagena) and Brazilians Murilo Duarte and Gui Santos. These additions include two left-footers, a skillful winger, and a versatile winger-close, coming from Quinta Dos Lombos of Portugal and MNK Square Dubrovnik of Croatia. The fifth signing for Córdoba will also come from Croatia: Colombian Felipe ‘El Churro’ Echevarría, who recently won the Cup with MNK Pula, under Spanish coach Álvaro Martínez. At 32, Echevarría is a prominent figure in Colombian futsal, having won numerous titles with Real Antioquia and Alianza Platanera.

He also played for San Lorenzo in Argentina, winning the Copa Libertadores in 2021. Before moving to Slovenian side Dobovec, where he achieved a treble (League, Cup, and Super Cup). Last season, he played in Croatia, and now, this right-wing goal-scorer arrives in Córdoba on a free transfer. Ready to replace Zequi (El Hidalgo Manzanares Quesos) and eager to showcase his talent in Spain’s First Division.
