According to multiple reports, Oxygen Esports is in the process of laying off all employees and shutting down operations entirely. Just three years after partnering with Kraft Sports & Entertainment, owned by New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
Founded in 2020, Oxygen (OXG) merged with Kraft’s company shortly after its inception. Allowing them to fund teams in various esports. Including Valorant, Rocket League, Rainbow Six, and Apex Legends, as well as establishing the Call of Duty League franchise, Boston Breach.
Although some teams under the OXG banner achieved respectable placements, their efforts to build championship-winning rosters for the Helix Esports facility at Patriot Place ultimately fell short.
Sources have indicated that the end of Oxygen Esports is imminent, with the organization planning to lay off all staff and shut down completely.
Players from the Boston Breach have reportedly been informed that they must vacate their apartments and will lose access to the Helix facility by August 8. Just days before traveling to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a $1.8 million Modern Warfare 3 tournament.

The situation remains uncertain for Oxygen Esports and its staff, with some expressing that they have been “left in the dark” but confirming that “all of us are affected,” including the players.
This development comes just days after the Oxygen-owned Shift Summer League playoffs in Rocket League were abruptly suspended 30 minutes before their scheduled start on August 6.
Event staff were reportedly informed that their promised payment would no longer be fulfilled and were encouraged to continue working without compensation.
As of now, sources indicate that the board and shareholders are attempting to “resolve” the situation. Which is expected to include formalities around severance pay, likely to be finalized by Friday, August 9.
It is still unclear what this means for the future of the 12th Call of Duty League spot. Although several organizations have reportedly shown interest. Especially since Activision has waived the $25 million entry fee and offered refunds to organizations that had already paid.
