Neguinho Joins Barça: A Dream Realized for João Víctor Alves Sena

João Víctor Alves Sena is set to achieve his dream of playing for Barça in 2025. Known as Neguinho, he predicted his move to the Blaugrana team three years ago. In a podcast from Brazil called Vestiario, the winger shared that on March 29, 2021, he messaged Barça’s futsal section on Instagram, stating, “In five years, I’ll be there.” However, his prediction will come true a year earlier, as he will don the Barça jersey in June or possibly January next year. The final transfer fee of 40,000 euros includes an option for Barça to expedite his arrival in the winter if needed due to injuries.

a rising star at Corinthians

At 21, Neguinho was a rising star at Corinthians when he sent the message to Barça. In January 2022, he moved to Palma as one of the world’s most promising young players. He had already debuted with Brazil’s senior national team at the Copa América and won the Under-21 World Cup, being named the best player in the final. The 2022-23 season was turbulent, starting poorly with a failed move to Noia Portus Apostoli and an unsuccessful negotiation to stay in Spain. He eventually returned to Brazil, where he shone with Eerechim, winning the League and being named the best finisher in the Brazilian championship.

Despite numerous offers from Brazil and Europe, Neguinho remained with Palma Futsal until 2025. José Tirado, Palma’s general manager, persuaded him to return to Palma after winning the Copa América with Brazil. Neguinho continued to enhance his reputation, and a standout performance against Barça in the Spanish Cup quarter-finals convinced Jordi Torras to initiate negotiations with Tirado.

Born in Ferraz de Vasconcelos (São Paulo), Neguinho is considered a valuable acquisition by Barça, who have experienced his prowess firsthand in the UEFA Futsal Champions League. He scored twice against them in the final, helping Mallorca to retain its continental title. His transfer to Barça, officially announced this summer, will be effective next summer as per the agreement between the Catalan and Balearic clubs. Neguinho is crucial for Antonio Vadillo as Palma Futsal aims for its first national title and to solidify its European and global dominance.

Before joining Barça, Neguinho aims to become a world champion with Brazil in Uzbekistan. He is on the call-up list by Marquinhos Xavier, alongside Dyego and Pito, but must compete for a spot with Lucas Gomes from Magnus Futsal, his next Intercontinental rival.
