The 2024 League of Legends World Championship is approaching quickly, with teams already starting to secure their places in the most significant international event of the year for League of Legends.

The championship kicks off on September 25, 2024, marking the conclusion of the 2024 competitive LoL season.

Qualification for Worlds 2024 varies by team and region, making the battle for one of the 20 available slots highly competitive.

Each region has a different number of slots and distinct qualifying methods at various stages. Here’s a rundown of the teams that have qualified so far, their qualification paths, and what other teams need to do to secure a spot.

Teams Qualified for LoL Worlds 2024

Currently, only two teams have confirmed their spots for Worlds 2024.

Gen.G secured their place by winning MSI 2024, guaranteeing a spot at Worlds 2024 if they reached the playoffs. Although the LCK regular season is still ongoing, Gen.G’s high standings ensure their playoff qualification.

G2 Esports clinched their spot by winning the LEC Summer 2024 Finals, defeating Fnatic 3-0 despite significant gold deficits in each game.

Significant changes have occurred since the last World Championship. The APAC region now includes the PCS (Southeast Asia), LJL (Japan), and LCO (OCE), potentially marking the first time in a decade that a Japanese team might not qualify if the PCS dominates the finals.

Additionally, 2024 is the final year the LCS, LLA, and CBLOL will exist in their current formats, with Worlds qualification processes set to change next year.
