Navigating Valorant’s Long Off-Season: Insights from Pro Player Daniel ‘Rossy’ Abedrabbo

As Valorant Champions 2024 approaches, so does the extended off-season. Former T1 player Daniel ‘Rossy’ Abedrabbo shared his feelings on social media about the sparse competitive calendar.

After the World Championships, there are no scheduled VCT tournaments, and players will need to wait for off-season events to resume their professional activities. Rossy expressed his uncertainty about how to handle the sudden downtime, noting the lack of event announcements leading up to the major tournament and the prospect of only free agency ahead.

Players not participating in Valorant Champions will have to wait until February 2025, approximately six months, for another chance at VCT competition if the circuit starts similarly to 2023. “I’ve never felt less purpose in my life. This schedule makes me depressed, and I’m sure other players feel the same,” Rossy said.

The VCT calendar began on February 17 and will conclude after six months on August 25.

Other pros suggested Rossy consider becoming a caster or on-camera personality for Valorant Champions, with many sharing his sentiments about the upcoming off-season. “Feel this, wish I could time skip into 2025,” commented 100 Thieves Valorant pro Sean ‘bang’ Bezerra. “Welcome to the club,” added M80’s Brendan ‘BcJ’ Jensen.

Discontent with this year’s limited competitive schedule is widespread among pros and fans, who have voiced their disappointment to Riot Games. The 2025 season is expected to feature a revamped competitive calendar, but Riot explained that the current schedule was set due to their long-term planning.

The 2022 and 2023 off-seasons included a few tournaments, allowing pros of all levels to gain experience before the VCT season began. Announcements for these events should follow Valorant Champions, as organizers aim to attract viewers and teams after the World Championship. However, pros and fans will need to wait about a month for the World Championship to end and even longer for Riot-sanctioned off-season events to release their schedules.
