Osasuna Magna has already made its first two signings for the summer transfer window. It was confirmed that the Navarrese club has finalized the signings of Brazilian winger Gabriel Ligeiro and Argentine power forward Facundo Russo. Who are expected to replace Fabinho and Jonathan Linhares. Ligeiro, at 21, is a standout young player in the Brazilian National League and was the leader of Marreco Futsal, the same team Fabinho joined from in 2021 before transferring to Nagoya Oceans. CD Xota’s management hopes Ligeiro will perform as well as his compatriot.
Facundo Russo, 23, is a full international with Argentina, playing for Secla Futsal as a skilled right-footed power forward capable of scoring goals.
Notably, Osasuna Magna scored the fewest goals in the First Division last season, with 76 goals in 30 games, so the team aims to boost its offensive capabilities. With Brazilian Juninho and captain Roberto Martil renewing their contracts and Leo Café departing, the team, led by Tatono Arregui, is seeking solutions. Despite initially counting on Eloy de Pablos, his sudden move to Movistar Inter has disrupted plans, and Relevo confirms they are also searching for a left-footer to complement Galician Pachu and Argentine Gerarghty.
After his first year as head coach, succeeding Imanol Arregui (now with Nagoya Oceans in Japan), Miguel Hernandez stated, “Players like Jonathan and Fabinho leave, but others will come. We welcomed new players before, and now we’ll do it again, showing them what this club is about.”
Josu Mendive will return to Osasuna Magna after his loan at Second Division club El Ejido, where he scored 17 goals last season. The 22-year-old winger is set to rejoin his teammates for preseason on August 26 under Miguel Hernández’s guidance. “Miguel told me from the start he wanted me to work. He found my season impressive and believes I can contribute significantly next season. I’ve grown a lot as a player and person,” said Mendive.
