Jimbee Cartagena Signs French Star Souheil Mohoudine

Jimbee Cartagena is gearing up for the League final against ElPozo Murcia, while also making strategic moves in the summer transfer market. The team, chaired by Miguel Ángel Jiménez, has successfully signed Souheil Mohoudine. A powerful French finisher from Étoile Lavalloise, where he recently secured the French D-1 championship.

After securing Chaguinha, head coach and general manager Eduardo Sao Tiago, known as Duda, shifted focus to acquiring Mohoudine. This move, confirmed by media, adds a versatile player to Jimbee’s roster. Mohoudine, who previously played under Jesús Velasco at ACCS Futsal in Paris, brings valuable experience, having won a league title with Ricardinho and competed in the Champions League.

Mohoudine signed his contract on June 6 in Cartagena and was present to witness Jimbee’s victory over Barça, a win that secured their place in the final. He expressed delight with his new fans and committed to a one-year contract, with an option for an additional year. On the court, he congratulated his future teammates on their success.

Coach Duda anticipates that Mohoudine will provide significant defensive strength with his imposing 1.87-meter frame. Despite his size, Mohoudine is known for his versatility, starting as a winger before transitioning to a closer role. He is also a skilled passer and a reliable goal scorer. As the captain of Raphael Reynaud’s French national team, which will compete in its first World Cup in Uzbekistan, Mohoudine is a pivotal player. Who led his team to qualification with a crucial goal against Croatia.

Footsteps

Following in the footsteps of Amin Benslama, who made history as the first French player to debut in Spain’s top competition with Jimbee in September 2022, Mohoudine aims to make a significant impact. With his addition, Jimbee Cartagena is close to finalizing its roster for the next season. The team will see the departure of five players: Bebe, Lucao, and Javi Mínguez to Movistar Inter, Juanan to Córdoba, and Saura returning to Belgian Anderlecht.

As reported, Jimbee has made five new signings, including internationals Francisco José Cortes from El Hidalgo Manzanares Cheese and left-wing Gonzalo Castejón, who returns from Family Cash Alzira. Additionally, Thai center Muhammad Osamanmusa from Córdoba World Heritage Site will strengthen the defense, and Jonathan Linhares from Osasuna Magna will serve as a playmaker. Linhares, recovering from a serious knee injury, is undergoing rehabilitation with Jimbee’s medical team to be ready for the league’s start in October.
