Riot Games Vows to Fix DDoS Attacks on T1’s League of Legends Team

Riot Games has pledged to “find solutions” for the ongoing DDoS attacks that have been plaguing T1’s League of Legends team, disrupting player streams and practice sessions.

For several months, T1’s LoL team has experienced disruptive DDoS attacks, forcing the cancellation of streams. In response, T1 publicly called on Riot Games to address the issue.

The issue gained further attention when Faker’s first stream after returning from MSI was marred by connection problems due to these attacks. Riot Games has since responded, prioritizing the resolution of the DDoS issues.

“These are really frustrating for everyone and we completely understand why T1 has shut down streams for now,” said Riot Meddler. “We’re working closely with them to create a safe playing and streaming environment.”

Meddler explained that while Riot has been collaborating with T1 for months, the recent DDoS attacks differed from earlier ones, rendering previous fixes ineffective.

“Since the latest attacks started, we’ve had a team investigating what’s causing these latest problems and we’re in ongoing discussion with T1 on other ways to mitigate these attacks,” Meddler stated.

“This has been a top priority for us and will remain one as we look to solve these pain points in the region. We’ll continue to deploy every resource to investigate causes and find solutions.”

The DDoS attacks have not only disrupted T1’s streams but also their practice sessions, impacting players’ ability to maintain their skills through SoloQ. The financial repercussions have also been significant for T1 due to the halt in streaming.

Moreover, the attacks have affected not just T1’s main LoL team but also their LCK Challengers team, as revealed by Rekkles, and their Valorant team practicing in the same facility.
