Who Should Join Faker in the Hall of Legends? Our Top 4 Picks

The first Hall of Legends skins have finally been revealed, and the debut skin honors none other than Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok. However, this new line of skins has stirred some controversy due to its hefty $450 price tag. Despite this, Riot’s Hall of Legends is an excellent way to immortalize some of League of Legends’ greatest players, and Faker, the game’s most iconic figure, was the natural first choice.

But the question remains: who should be next after Faker? Here are our top four choices for the next inductees into the Hall of Legends.

4. UZI

Jian “Uzi” Zihao, often regarded as the greatest player never to win the ultimate prize, has had a streak of near-misses at Worlds. Playing for Royal Never Give Up under various names, Uzi redefined the ADC role.

Uzi reached the Worlds finals in 2013 and 2014, only to lose to SKT T1, led by a young Faker, and SSG at their peak. Despite these setbacks, Uzi continued to perform exceptionally well beyond his prime but never managed to secure the elusive Worlds trophy.

His closest brush with ultimate victory came in 2018 with RNG, winning his first LPL split and the MSI in a dominant fashion. That year, Uzi and RNG also won the summer LPL split and helped China defeat South Korea in the Asian Games.

However, their Worlds run ended prematurely in the playoffs against G2, despite RNG being heavily favored. In the latter part of his career, Uzi’s presence was quieter, but his legacy as one of the greatest ADCs remains unchallenged.

3. CAPS

Rasmus “Caps” Winther is the most decorated Western player and has come tantalizingly close to true glory multiple times. He had his breakout year in 2018 with Fnatic, finishing 3rd-4th at MSI and second at Worlds, solidifying his reputation as one of Europe’s top mid-laners.

In 2019, Caps joined G2 Esports, helping them achieve one of the greatest LoL seasons by winning both LEC splits, MSI, and reaching the Worlds finals, almost achieving the elusive Golden Road.

Caps remains the West’s best mid-laner, consistently performing well at MSIs and Worlds. Recently, in the 2024 MSI, he led G2 to a strong performance, finishing 4th.

2. DEFT

Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu’s career has been marked by numerous near-misses and heartbreaks, but he finally won Worlds in 2022 in one of the most thrilling finals ever.

Deft first gained international recognition with Samsung Blue in 2014. After several close finishes, he moved to EDG and won MSI against a Faker-led T1, but Worlds continued to elude him.

In 2022, Deft and DRX barely qualified for Worlds but then surged, ultimately winning the championship against T1 in a spectacular final.

Post-2022, Deft has continued to perform well with DPlus and KT Rolster, cementing his legacy as one of the game’s legends.

1. RULER

Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk has had a stellar career, starting as a mainstay in the LCK and now excelling in the LPL with JD Gaming.

Ruler quickly established himself as one of the best ADCs, reaching the Worlds finals in his first year and winning it in 2017 by upsetting the favored T1.

After joining JDG in 2023, Ruler had one of his best seasons, winning the LPL spring split, MSI, and the summer split, and helping Korea win the Asian Games.

Although JDG’s Worlds run ended in the semifinals against T1 in 2023, Ruler’s impressive track record secures his status as a legend in the game.
