Emanuel Santoro Appointed as Head Coach of Córdoba

Córdoba has officially appointed Emanuel Santoro as the head coach for the upcoming season. The president of the Caliphate team has emphasized continuity by confirming the Buenos Aires native. Who has been the assistant coach under Josan Gonzalez for the past two seasons. Following Diego Giustozzi’s stint at ElPozo Murcia, Santoro will be the second Argentine to coach in the First Division.

Santoro, born in Buenos Aires in 1986, will be introduced next Monday and will sign a contract valid until June 30, 2025. His coaching career includes time at Banfield, Kimberley, and Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, as well as coaching Argentina’s under-14 and under-16 teams. He also briefly served as an assistant coach and analyst for Noia Portus Apostoli with Marlon Velasco, who currently coaches Kazakh club Kairat.

In the selection process for the Córdoba World Heritage coaching position, Bruno Garcia received international offers. While Lolo Vinos will not continue with the Blanquiverde subsidiary team and is considering Second B offers, such as Bujalance. Santoro is facing a significant transition period with seven confirmed departures, potentially rising to eight if Belgian Anderlecht or an Asian team meets the buyout fee for Pulinho. The Brazilian left winger who has expressed his desire to leave the Andalusian club.

New Signings

The first two signings for Córdoba World Heritage have been confirmed: Brazilian players Guilherme Dos Santos and Murilo Duarte, both currently playing in Europe. Dos Santos, a left winger from São Paulo born in 1999, has spent four seasons in Croatia, most recently with MNK Square Dubrovnik. Duarte, born in Curitiba in 1992, is an experienced left-handed wing-closer who has played for CRC Quinta Lombos in Portugal and previously in France with ACCS under Sergio Mullor.

The sports director, Rafa García, is actively working on several fronts to complete the squad, aiming for at least four more additions this summer, prioritizing a closer, a left-handed wing, and two right-handed players.

Additionally, Thai center Muhammad Osamanmusa will join Jimbee Cartagena next season. Lucas Perin will move to Belgian Anderlecht, while Zequi has signed with Quesos El Hidalgo Manzanares. Other departures include Jose Ma, Antoniazzi, Rafalillo, and Guilherme. The club is also seeking a loan for Kenji. Confirmed players for next season include goalkeepers Fabio Alvira and Víctor Areales, Ukrainian closer Mykola Mykytiuk, Paraguayans Damián Mareco and Arnaldo Báez, and Brazilian center Kaue Pereira. Furthermore, Córdoba has reached an agreement with Jimbee Cartagena for the transfer of Juanan Moraleja, a left-handed center recovering from a serious injury, expected to debut in October.
