A New Era of Competition: AOG Spring 2024 Kicks Off Vietnam’s Gaming Season

Saigon Phantom’s victory was unsurprising to mobile gaming fans, given their impressive record of six wins out of eight seasons. They’ve consistently faced the same opponent in the finals for the past six seasons. This trend continued even after former V Gaming players formed One Star Esports in February 2024, maintaining the “curse of second place.”

Arena of Glory Spring 2024 matches garnered 21.5 million hours watched, a 9% increase compared to the previous year’s spring tournament. Both average and peak viewership saw substantial growth, increasing by 30.8% and 39.4%, respectively.

The spring season set a new peak online viewership record for the series, especially during the grand final between Saigon Phantom and One Star Esports, which drew over 656.5K peak viewers. This surpassed the previous peak of 644.3K viewers during the Arena of Glory Winter 2022 final match.

Saigon Phantom’s Epic Victory: From Underdog to Champion

Compared to the previous spring tournament, Arena of Glory Spring 2024 saw significant audience engagement growth on TikTok. Total viewing hours on the platform surged by 200%, and peak online viewership nearly tripled. This surge was largely due to the growth of the official channel, caothulienquan.official, while the number of channels covering the tournament remained consistent.

In total viewing hours, Arena of Glory Spring 2024 ranked second, and it placed third for average viewership on its broadcasts. However, Arena of Glory Winter 2022 still holds the top spot in both metrics.
