Muhammad Osamanmusa will be playing for Jimbee Cartagena next season. The Thai center born in Bangkok, has signed with the team. To prevent any issues similar to the situation with Chaguinha, the board led by Miguel Ángel Jiménez has completed all contractual formalities, making the Asian scorer an official Cartagena player.
This was a complex operation, as the player had finished his contract with Córdoba World Heritage Site and received numerous offers from both international and Spanish clubs. Initially, it seemed he would join the Chinese team Shenzen Nanling Tielang, coached by José María Pazos ‘Pulpis’. However, a call from Eduardo Sao Thiago ‘Duda’ changed his mind. Muhammad preferred to stay in Spain and was very attracted to the project of the Spanish Super Cup champions, rejecting offers from Albali Valdepeñas and Jaén Interior Paradise.
Cartagena acted quickly to finalize the deal, knowing that Muhammad’s value would increase after the Uzbekistan World Cup, where Thailand qualified thanks to Miguel Rodrigo. Muhammad, the star of the Thai team, had an outstanding performance in the last Asian Cup, helping his team secure second place. This season, he scored 13 goals in 27 league games for Córdoba.
Spain Stint
Jimbee Cartagena will be Muhammad’s third team in Spain. At 20, he debuted in the First Division with Santiago Futsal, playing only one match due to bureaucratic issues and scoring his first goal. He then returned to Thailand to play for Chonburi Blue Wave and Blackpearl United. In 2022, he trained with Benfica for a few months before joining Córdoba, where he signed until June 30, 2024.
Josan González, Córdoba’s coach, described Muhammad as “a dominant center, very strong physically, with an exceptional shot with both legs, and defensively, a very complete player.” Muhammad is one of six confirmed departures from Córdoba. Relief has also confirmed that Perin left for Belgian Anderlecht and Zequi signed with Quesos El Hidalgo Manzanares. Josema, Antoniazzi, and Guilherme will not continue with the team.
With Muhammad joining Jimbee, the team will need to make room for him, likely loaning out Juanan Moraleja, who was seriously injured in January. The club decided to renew his contract after his surgery for a torn ACL, and his recovery is progressing well. Córdoba is interested in his loan, and negotiations are advanced.
Juanan’s injury led to the quick signing of Alberto Saura, who arrived on a six-month loan from Belgian Anderlecht, with whom he is contracted until 2025. Additionally, international Pablo Ramírez is signed until 2026, and Waltinho’s contract renewal is in progress. The Brazilian center, who missed a decisive shot in the Copa del Rey final against Real Betis, described it as “the worst day of my professional life, but as athletes, we lose more than we win, and it was a defeat that will stay with me.”
