Iran celebrated a triumphant day in Thailand as their futsal team reclaimed the Asian title, last held in 2018. In the final match against the host team, Iran dominated with a 4-1 victory, securing their 13th AFC Futsal Asian Cup title. Goals from Karimi, Ahmadabbasi, Hassanzadeh, and Mohammadi sealed the win, while Thailand’s Jirawat managed to score their sole goal. Despite Thailand’s efforts, it wasn’t enough for their first title in the competition. Both Iran and Thailand, having reached the semi-finals, secured spots in the final phase of the 2024 World Cup, alongside Uzbekistan as the host nation. Additionally, Afghanistan will make their debut appearance in the World Championship.
