Rekkles engaged in an on-stream interview with Caedrel, delving into the recent onslaught of DDoS attacks targeting T1. He discussed the ordeal of switching between multiple accounts and its impact on T1’s Valorant team, revealing that the team had to halt practice entirely for a period.
Faker’s mention of the severity of the DDoS attacks against T1 during a post-match press conference has stirred up controversy, prompting the club to disclose previously undisclosed information about the nature of these attacks.
In his conversation with Caedrel during the interview, Rekkles provided further insight, illustrating the extent to which T1 and all its players, even those outside the realm of LoL professionals, have been affected by the persistent threat.

“Our internet went down right at the beginning of the game. It stayed down for an hour, causing a pause in our last [LCK CL] game. Valorant was unable to practice during this time, and neither could T1’s main team. Despite having an official game scheduled, we were unable to participate.”
GenG Academy, T1’s previous opponent, patiently waited for about an hour for the match to resume and accepted a chronobreak from T1 to reset the game to before their internet issues began affecting gameplay.
According to Rekkles, he decided to leave when the situation escalated, experiencing the same interruptions Faker mentioned after their recent LCK loss.
“At first, the solution was simply to refrain from playing, or no solution at all. Eventually, around the time of the Gen.G match, they provided us with new accounts we were permitted to use. We were prohibited from using any other accounts, resulting in a reset of our Matchmaking Rating (MMR). Leaving during this period felt like the right choice; I lacked the motivation to start over on another account.”
While T1 proper received Riot super accounts with high MMR, Rekkles had to start from scratch with each account. The account they ultimately had to use would have been his sixth to level.
Rekkles expressed that the experience was mentally draining and these persistent DDoS attacks have been taking a toll on the entirety of T1 for months.
