Last-minute Injury: The FPF announced through official channels that Bernardo Paçó has been called up by Jorge Braz to replace Eduardo Sousa from ElPozo Murcia Costa Cálida, the goalkeeper currently sidelined with an injury.
The 23-year-old will be making a repeat appearance for the team, having previously been part of the squad during the last rounds of the Elite Round for the 2024 World Cup qualifiers, albeit without seeing any action.
As a result, the national coach now has two goalkeepers for the upcoming preparatory friendlies against Slovenia in Odivelas: Bernardo Paçó (Sporting) and André Correia (Leões Porto Salvo).
It’s worth noting that Bernardo Paçó, who has played 17 games in the 2023/2024 season, is also eagerly awaiting his first international appearance wearing the national team jersey.
