Injuries Plague FC Barcelona Squad

The troubles persist in Barcelona as a curse of injuries continues to plague the FC Barcelona squad. Claiming the latest victims in Sergio González and Sergio Lozano. In the case of the captain, the injury is less severe but will still sideline him shortly after his return to the court.

Announced on Thursday, Sérgio González has suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee along with an injury to the external meniscus. Consequently, the 26-year-old winger will undergo surgery and face a layoff period of no less than ten months.

As for Lozano, aged 35, he has suffered a tear in the biceps femoris of his left thigh. Although not as severe as his teammate’s injury, it remains a significant setback likely to keep the Blaugrana captain out of action for the upcoming matches. The club has refrained from providing a specific timeline for his return, stating only that “evolution will dictate availability” for future commitments.

These injuries add to the woes of the team led by André Coelho and Erick Mendonça. As FC Barcelona recently suffered defeats in their last two Spanish championship games against ElPozo Murcia and Jaén Paraíso Interior. Consequently, their lead over the second-placed team, ElPozo, has narrowed to just two points.
