Torreense secured a ticket to the final four of the Portuguese Women’s Cup last weekend, achieving a remarkable feat under the guidance of Pedro Nobre. Defying the odds, they overcame the formidable Santa Marta Eagles, ensuring their presence in Sines.
This historic achievement distinguishes the Torres Vedras team. Marking the first instance since the 2015/16 season that a district championships team has reached the final stages of the Queen’s Test. The current leaders of the first division of AF Lisboa boast five victories in the competition. Prior to their triumph over Águias Santa Marta, Torreense eliminated four other teams: CRD Miratejo, Farense, ACD Santo Estevão, and August 3, 1885.
This outstanding performance places Torreense among the select group of district championship participants. Who have embarked on a glorious journey to the final stage of the competition.
