Tundra’s MinD_ContRoL Suspended: Dota 2 Drama Unveiled

Top Dota 2 veteran, Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivannoc, finds himself suspended by Tundra Esports amid DreamLeague Season 22.

MinD_ContRoL boasts a remarkable Dota history, having spent an extended period with Team Liquid, securing an Aegis, and later contributing significantly to Nigma Galaxy. Following The International 2023, he joined Tundra in early 2024 as part of the organization’s rebuilding phase. However, a mere two months into this new venture, MinD_ContRoL faces an indefinite suspension during a crucial tournament.

MinD_ContRoL personally revealed his unexpected removal on February 26 in the midst of DreamLeague Season 22, tweeting, “LFT, just got kicked before the match.”

Several hours later, Tundra responded with a statement, confirming MinD_ContRoL’s indefinite suspension pending an internal disciplinary investigation. The statement refuted MinD_ContRoL’s claim of being kicked, stating that it was him who refused to continue representing Tundra unless certain demands were met.

In response to MinD_ContRoL’s absence, Tundra brought in Vladislav “laise” Lais as a stand-in for their second-day matches against Shopify Rebellion and Aurora, both resulting in 1-1 draws.

MinD_ContRoL later appeared on Gorgc’s stream to shed light on the situation, citing dissatisfaction with the re-appointment of David “MoonMeander” Tan as coach, Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko taking over as captain, and the arrival of Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg as the general manager as reasons for the fallout.

MinD_ContRoL explained that Pure took his captaincy, which he accepted initially, but with subsequent additions of MoonMeander and zai, he felt his influence within the team diminishing. The breaking point occurred with zai’s appointment on February 23, resulting in MinD_ContRoL feeling marginalized and powerless.

In a final move, MinD_ContRoL gave an ultimatum to Tundra’s CEO, asking him to choose between MinD_ContRoL or the trio of MoonMeander, zai, and Pure. Allegedly, the CEO sided with the new guard, leading to MinD_ContRoL’s suspension.
