After withdrawing from Mozambique, Morocco officially steps in as the host for the upcoming CAN. The announcement was made this Wednesday by the federation itself.
This development had been previously speculated by international futsal media and reflects the country’s recent growth in the sport. Although initially considered a top contender to host the 2024 World Cup, FIFA awarded the hosting rights to Uzbekistan. Morocco will now host the CAN.
It’s important to note that the three African teams for the 2024 World Cup will emerge from this CAN. The competition is scheduled to take place in Laayoune, in the south of Morocco, from April 11th to 17th.
