Though his time in Portugal is a distant memory, Tiago Polido remains a familiar name in our futsal realm. After several years in the Middle East, he’s returned to Europe for a new venture: coaching Ricardinho.
This Saturday, Riga FC announced the arrival of the 43-year-old Portuguese coach, born in Coimbra. He previously coached AA UTAD/Real Fut in Portugal from 2004 to 2006, then embarked on an international journey, spanning Spain, Croatia, Italy, Qatar, Kuwait, and France. In Italy, Polido achieved the pinnacle of his career, winning the Serie A title and reaching a UEFA Futsal Cup final four with Marca Futsal.
Now, in 2024, Tiago Polido takes on a project determined to elevate him to the summit of European futsal. In Riga, he will lead a team featuring players like Thalles, Airoso, Ricardinho, Serginho, and Kiki Vaporaki, promising an exciting chapter in his coaching journey
