Despite being suspended for doping, Cavinato has a new club

Diego Cavinato is set to return to futsal after a three-year suspension due to a positive anti-doping test. The former Sporting player was recently announced as a reinforcement for Guarany.

At 38 years old, the Italian-Brazilian winger has returned to his homeland and will continue his career with this Rio Grande do Sul team, despite his prior suspension. This decision stems from the fact that the team solely participates in a league organized by the Gaucho Futsal Federation, which falls outside FIFA’s jurisdiction.

Cavinato believes that this move does not violate the terms of his suspension, although the president of the Portuguese Anti-Doping Authority (ADoP) has expressed a differing opinion in statements to the newspaper Record.
